The space is housed in the complex of the former rectory of the Church of San Carpoforo, an ancient church in the historic center of Milan, dating back to the 9th century and remodeled in the 16th century.

The spaces, which are accessed through an entrance hall with ancient brick vaults, are articulated on several levels around two internal courtyards, one of which belongs to the space. The location is divided into different blocks: an entrance consisting of an imposing staircase that leads to the Refectory, located on the second floor, or to the Literary Courtyard, through which it is possible to reach the Rectory, which is on three levels (Floor 0, 1 and 2). The Rectory is also connected to the Refectory through a service space that overlooks the Courtyard. All spaces and furnishings are designed to be adaptable to a wide variety of needs: seminars and presentations, conventions and meetings, readings and cocktails. The Refectory, located on the second floor, is the Laboratory’s largest space.

Equipped for exhibitions and conferences, it features layout and lighting solutions to ensure maximum flexibility of use. The Refectory has armchairs, chairs and tables. The back wall is equipped with a display board, while the entire perimeter of the room is equipped with a track system for fixing pictures and frames.
